Theme Breakdown: Reimagine. Transform. Excel.

Our 2026 theme challenges us to look beyond established routines and envision the future of international education and mobility.

1. Reimagine: The Vision for New Possibilities

To reimagine is to question the status quo. In an era of shifting global education landscapes, we must rethink how we approach our work.

  • For the profession: Challenging traditional "equivalency" models, the role of the evaluator in the age of AI, and supporting displaced and returning learners.

  • Session ideas: Innovative ways to evaluate micro-credentials, rethinking documentation to increase equity, or envisioning the "Office of the Future."

2. Transform: The Strategy of Change

To transform is to take those visions and put them into practice-focusing on the tools and methodologies that turn ideas into reality.

  • For the profession: The evolution of academic records (blockchain, digital wallets), legislative shifts, and implementing trauma-informed evaluation.

  • Session ideas: Moving to digital-first workflows, navigating country-specific reforms, or helping your team successfully transition to new ways of working.

3. Excel: The Standard of Excellence

To excel is to achieve mastery. This pillar is about precision, ethics, and the growth of the person doing the work.

  • For the profession: Setting the gold standard for fraud detection, maintaining rigorous research, and advocating for the profession at the executive level.

  • For YOU: Moving beyond the "checklist" to become a subject matter expert. This involves honing your skills, building a global peer network, and taking ownership of your career path.

  • Session ideas: Developing a "detective's eye" for complex cases, advocating for your expertise to supervisors, or transitioning from an entry-level evaluator to a leader.

Presentation Formats

We welcome engaging sessions that actively involve the audience:

  • Concurrent Breakout Sessions: 45, 60, or 75 minutes (Note: The 45-minute sessions are ideal for a topic discussion and/or sessions for 'veterans' already familiar with a topic. Most sessions are 60 minutes). Formats include individual presentations, panels, small group work, or interactive activities.

  • Please note: There will be no pre-conference workshops in 2026.
